Champagne production involves several stages: primary fermentation, bottling, secondary fermentation and aging. Secondary fermentation creates bubbles in the drink and gives champagne its characteristic taste and aroma.
Champagne can be dry (brut, extra brut), semi-dry (sec) or sweet (demi-sec, doux, demi-doux). Sweet types of champagne have a richer aroma and a softer taste, while dry types are lighter and fresher.
Champagne is a drink for special occasions, drunk at gala events and celebrations. It is often associated with luxury and sophistication. A distinctive feature of champagne is its ability to emphasize the taste of dishes served with it.
